Assalamu Alaykum Friend

As part of looking back on 10 Years of NZF, we've also been looking forward to what the next 10 years mean for our community.

Based on this thinking, National Zakat Foundation (NZF) is delighted to announce a new, strategic partnership with the United Muslims of Australia (UMA): a partnership that aims to further support and empower our community through the power of Islam’s third great pillar.

NZF will become the principal giving partner of the UMA, distributing the donations collected from UMA’s Zakat-able programs and serving UMA clients on their Zakat-related needs. This partnership will make it easier for a larger number of Muslims in Australia to donate their Zakat, Zakat Al-Fitr and Qurban to those in need, right here in our local community.

Our partnership will also help to raise awareness about the importance of local Zakat, and its role in helping to reduce poverty and inequality within Australian Muslim communities.

As a follow on from this partnership, on tonight's RealTalk we will be joined by two of our founding team members and one of our community's well-known leaders, Sheikh Shadi AlSuleiman (President of the Australian National Imams Council).

We'll be asking important questions such as can we be a self-sustaining community? Can we really look after each other? For Muslims who fall through the "safety net" of social security, can we be there for them and look after their needs?
