The world has been turned upside down in the last few weeks by the COVID-19 pandemic. Lives have been lost, jobs have been lost and livelihoods have been lost. Policymakers around the world are scrambling to figure out solutions to safeguard people’s welfare.
But we Muslims have an important institution that can help alleviate a lot of the financial and social hardship associated with such a crisis: Zakat.
