Subject: Where I get my "crazy" from...
I'll tell you right up front...my Dad is nuts...and
that's where I get it from...
My Dad is an ultra-endurance athlete...and an extraordinary one, at that.
At 70 years old (6 years ago) he roller skied across Canada...(not a typo -
he strapped on roller skis and went from Victoria, B.C. to St. John's,
Newfoundland over the course of 3 1/2 months).
- He's done 30 and 40 hour non-stop cycling trips...
- He's done 24 hour mountain bike races...
- He's done the Leadville 100 (which is a 100 mile mountain bike race
in the high-elevation mountains of Colorado where he got 4 flat tires
and STILL finished). - Completed a 24 hour multi-sport marathon, encompassing kayaking,
cycling, roller skiing, running, and roller blading
It's a standing joke in our family to never suggest any sort of insane
endurance test because he'll probably end up doing it (like going the
LENGTH of the Rocky Mountains on a unicycle...which luckily he hasn't tried
to do yet :).
Now you see where I get my crazy from...
So anyways, to the point of this email.
In just a few days, on June 24th, he's going to be doing a 24 hour golf marathon,
to see how many holes he can complete in that timeframe.
Last year, he did 150 holes in 24 hours...this year, he's going for 200 holes.
Here's the kicker...and it's what makes his version different from pretty much
EVERY other 24 golf marathon...he'll be walking and jogging the course NOT
riding in a cart...and he'll be carrying his own clubs.
So why am I telling you all this? Three reasons...
1. To inspire you...I want you to see that you CAN accomplish amazing things
if you really set your mind to it.
2. To show you the mindset I came from...I grew up knowing that there are
pretty much no limits on what you can accomplish if you refuse to listen to
negativity and naysayers.
3. To ask for your help...
Don't worry, it's nothing crazy!
While doing this 24 hour golf marathon, he's going to be raising money for an
excellent local charity that he and my mother are involved in. It's a great community-
building charity that takes in money, groups it in a fund then gives grants to
deserving local individuals and organizations.
First, if you have a Facebook account, I'd ask if you could just go to the page I
set up for him and click the Like button. The more exposure, the better! Feel
free to leave your comments on his wall as well. I'll have my Mom print them out
for him since he refuses to touch a computer :).

Second, if you'd like to donate directly to the charity, when you do so, send me
your receipt via email (to support@fitstep.com) and I'll send you FREE copies of
my four Classified Muscle Building ebooks (arms, chest, abs and intensity
techniques). I don't sell these so this will be one of the only ways to get 'em...
and they're PACKED with great training info.
I will be happy to do this for ANY amount you are able to donate, even if it's
just a couple of bucks.
You can read more about the charity here:
And here's where to go to donate.
https://vancouverfoundation.ca/CrestonKootenay/donateonline.asp
(Copy and past the words "Alex Nilsson Longest Day of the Year One-Man Golf Tournament"
in Step 3 for where to direct the donation).
That's pretty much the deal! We'll be posting how many holes he gets on the
Facebook page (and pictures) once he's done and thank you in advance for your help!
