The Mounted Patrol Foundation is a not-for-profit 501 (C) 3 charitable organization whose mission is to support and promote equestrian activities and facilities in San Mateo County. They also serve as fiscal agent for CHAPS (Community Horse Advocacy Program) and work closely with them to achieve mutual grant-making goals. In 16 years, the MPF has made grants in excess of $373,000 and CHAPS has made grants in excess of $164,000! The Endowment Fund started by founding members in 2003 has grown to $330,000 and makes annual discretionary grants of 5% of the principal balance every year.
