Happy Valentine’s Day!
Â
Whether you’re a swinging single, in a relationship, in a complicated relationship, engaged, or
married, may you have a day filled with love and joy!
Â
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share with you a little love story of mine.
Â
Here’s the story of how I finally found love...
Â
We first met a a cheese and wine party while at university in Exeter in the South West of England..
Â
At that time, little did I know that this person would actually be someone that I love so dearly
today!
Â
I had only been at uni for a month and was chatting with friends. I happened to be drinking at the time and put my beer down beside me. I was stood on a step with a banister next to me and there were two girls to my right who I didn’t know.
Â
Anyway, the night progressed and it was fun! At a certain point I moved my hand to pick up my drink but missed and instead touched the hand of a girl to my right!
Â
She laughed and I apologised, she didn’t believe me when I said it was an accident. We immediately started talking. The first thing she said to me was... guess where I’m from. I listed every country in the world almost except for the correct one.
Â
She told me Turkey and the rest is history. A year later we got married and had a son. 28 years later we are still married and we laugh when telling the story.
Â
Something I learned from this whole experience of falling in love that has helped me to be a
better person is to accept differences in culture and to learn to give.
Â
I’ve grown to become...
More outgoing and confident and to understand that after all the years of searching desperately for love, it was just necessary to relax and be patient and let it happen!
Â
Crazy, right?
