We look at individuals in each stage of life differently.
Babies and young children are expected to have moments of different behavior as they are still learning and growing. But as they reach teen and young adult years those that do not fall into societal norms, especially individuals with disabilities, easily stick out.
Parents of teens and adults with special needs will tell you that people were more accepting and accommodating when their children were younger. As they age, their safe havens of acceptance and love become fewer and fewer.
The church needs to be a place where people of all ages and abilities can feel welcomed, loved, and valued. Special Touch Ministry is here to help. |
