Subject: Traditions can help us focus more on Christ!

Traditions...

provide vivid impressions that can enrich our families heritage. Psychologists say traditions can bring us together, provide us with experiences of shared values and mutual comfort, and offer us time for relaxation and reflection.

Many Christians have traditions, this time of year, that reflect on the life of Jesus. These traditions help remind us of God's overwhelming love for each one of us.

George P. Wood specifically addresses one of the traditions some Christians practice... Fasting (aka Lent). You can find his article in Influence Magazine here.

With Easter only a few weeks away, some of our churches have traditional musicals, programs, or cantatas. Others hold in-depth devotionals, bible studies, or even once-in-a-lifetime trips to the Holy Land... the place that Jesus actually walked on this earth thousands of years ago!

If you desire to experience the later but find it unattainable to visit in person... there are numerous Youtube videos that can take you there online. Here are a few:

Some practices beginning as a tradition, soon develop into a way of living:

1

Prayer

Prayer is the most powerful way for us to connect with our Creator and put full dependance on Him.

2

Giving of our Time/Finances

As we grow in our understanding of and relationship with Christ, we follow His example and directives in giving and serving.

3

Resurrection Celebration

The resurrection of Jesus is more than a historical event that took place over 2,000 years ago. It is a reality... one that we participate in. We celebrate this by sharing what Jesus and His resurrection has done for us, giving other people the opportunity to accept and welcome Him into their life!

We encourage you to develop traditions that strengthen your focus on Christ! Special Touch Ministry offers many opportunities to build a new tradition.
