Special Touch Ministry Welcomes New Board Members

Since 2007, Missionary Rev. Joe Trementozzi, together with his wife Ann, have played a vital role in the mission and vision of Special Touch Ministry. They were called to serve families impacted by disability through the prompting of the Holy Spirit and the birth of their daughter who has special needs. We are thrilled to announce that Joe has recently accepted a position on the STM Board of Directors. In addition, we want to congratulate Joe on his appointment as the Assemblies of God IM Field Rep for Ministry to Persons with Disabilities.

We would like to welcome Bob O’Keefe as STM Board Treasurer. Bob lives in Pewaukee, Wisconsin with his wife, Christine. Bob is the VP for Finance and Administration at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee. Prior to joining Mount Mary, he held positions in the health care field as CFO for UW Hospitals and Clinics and as VP of Finance for Aurora Health Care. Bob was first introduced to the world of disability at 13 years old, when he was asked to tutor a young neighbor who was profoundly deaf. As their friendship grew, he was able to assist his friend in communicating with others. Joining Special Touch Ministry provides Bob the opportunity to serve God, using his unique background and experience.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to prior Treasurer, Tom VanVeen. Tom has unreservedly provided consistent and thoughtful guidance during his 10 years of service as Board Treasurer with Special Touch Ministry. We pray for God’s blessings on Tom and his family as they move on to further endeavors in obedience to His call.

The Special Touch Ministry Board of Directors is responsible for carrying on the business of Special Touch Ministry, Inc. As a 501c3 nonprofit Corporation, Special Touch Ministry is legally required to have a Board of Directors. These Board members are the trustees who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the nonprofit is continuing and able to advance its mission. They are not compensated for the time they volunteer as board members, regularly meeting and making key decisions that enhance the Special Touch Ministry mission, strategy, and goals.

We would like to thank all of our current STM Board Members for their ongoing contribution and service to the success of ministry to people with disabilities. Current board members include: Rev. Debra Chivers, Board President, Bob O’Keefe, Board Treasurer, Rev. Dale Hazard, Board Secretary, Rev. Gayland Hendrickson, Rev. Dennis Hodgson, and Rev. Joe Trementozzi.
