Subject: Rare Windows - Unique Moments: STM Events

For many impacted by disability, Special Touch Ministry events are rare windows - a chance to worship, sing, and find fellowship alongside other believers. Surrounded by understanding and acceptance, these precious moments of connection and spiritual growth are sometimes the only such opportunities, throughout the year, for these families and individuals.

Imagine... only connecting with your church family once a month, or even once a year.

Your prayers and financial support allow us to not only offer significant moments, but help develop transformative experiences that bring people together, foster spiritual growth and reach out to those in need, sharing the message of hope found in Christ Jesus.

Charlene Phipps is a dedicated Missions Associate with Special Touch Ministry. In addition to serving as a STM Chapter and Summer Get Away leader, she's now our newest addition to the National Summer Get Away Central Processing department, continuing to bring her passion and expertise from Florida to support ministry teams across the country.

We’d like to share one of Charlene's recent updates from Florida:

"What a year 2023 was! Through the many outreaches, chapter meetings and camps, we had the privilege of seeing over 30 people give their life to Christ!

That is something to get excited about. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for 2024. But before we jump into that I want to share a little of what we were able to do in ONLY the last quarter of 2023.

Often our friends with disabilities are left out, forgotten, or just not recognized. This rings true for their caregivers as well. They become tired, frustrated, stressed and emotional. Sound familiar?

We assist throughout the year by holding craft nights, movie nights, Summer Get Aways and other opportunities to give them a break. Though they are very appreciative of this time, we also wanted to honor them and so we held a caregiver dinner. The smiles on their faces warmed our hearts.

As you know, Christmas is a very busy time and holds many opportunities for us to reach those who can’t attend our chapter due to being confined to a group home. There were three opportunities to reach out to local group homes. We do this by taking them gift bags and stockings. We were able to distribute 95 gift bags and stockings to the residents.

Though we were there to give them these gift bags and stockings it wasn’t just about that. These opportunities opened the door for us to share the gospel with the residents and caregivers. I explained to them that we had gifts for them, but these gifts do not compare to the gift that Jesus has for us." ~Charlene
