While my amazing wife, Ann, is communicating with a large spectrum of churches and organizations across Florida and Georgia to become involved with the Florida and Georgia Special Touch Get Aways later this year, we are so amazed in what God is doing!
Allow me to give a short explanation. As the Lord led us to become AG US Missionaries to persons with disabilities and their family members back in 2006, we easily noticed that we could count, maybe, on one hand the number of churches doing disability ministry within their four walls. We became "all in" involved with Special Touch Ministry, one of the very few disability ministries out there at the time. They started their work in 1982. I remember one day, years ago, traveling through the Midwest States with my good friend and Co-Founder of Special Touch, Rev. Charlie Chivers. Wow, do I miss him! Anyway, we were talking about the different ways we could communicate with the church at large to become more aware of the need to minister to persons with disabilities and their families.
We began dreaming of the day, where many churches around the nation and the world would be hiring leaders to head up their own Disability Ministries. We would say, if we all just keep pushing forward in sharing the need and don't become discouraged, the Lord will touch the right people and make it come to pass. Because, let's face it, Everyone Needs Jesus. Everyone.
And now look at the number of churches that are doing disability ministry within their four walls in the USA. We are so blessed to witness what the Holy Spirit is doing. Thank you for Your faithfulness, Lord Jesus!! ❤❤❤
