While we can all enjoy having fun and making new friends, the focus of Summer Get Away has always been to show the compassionate love of Christ and share the Gospel. There are many moments, over the past 40 years where evangelism has been witnessed - in multiple locations across the country.

I shared a special time with Darren looking at pictures he brought from 25 years of STM Summer Get Away memories and experiences. You can see how much he’s grown and how much Get Away has impacted him.
Mary says she accepts Jesus in her heart every time she’s here.
Theresa is very motivated to grow deeper with her relationship with Christ.
Lois loved Chapel, the coffee shop, prayed to Jesus, and can’t wait for next year!
Devin was with us for the first time. His parents explained that he did not have the ability to understand humor and would become very stressed if someone ‘joked’ with him. They also shared that while they were not Christians, Devin understood to be ‘respectful’ during anything faith based.
Devin sat quietly in the back of the chapel listening to every word of the message the first night and was the first one to respond to salvation!! He later told us that he would not be fearful during another medical procedure or hospitalization as “Jesus was now with him always!” At the very last moment before the talent show, he asked if he could participate. We asked what he wanted to do. His answer..."BE A COMEDIAN.”
