Special Touch Ministry offers faith-based resources and supports, both online and offline!

STM ONLINE

Following the pandemic, Special Touch Ministry adapted services to meet more needs online, through our website,  STM Facebook page, local Summer Get Away & Chapter Facebook Groups, online personal connections including both a

and the

STM Online Community: a safe place where individuals impacted by disability or sight loss can share their concerns, struggles, pain, and triumphs, and encourage each other, receive prayer and gain spiritual insights. Regular features of meetings are discussions on topics of interest to those who live with disability, Bible studies and prayer.

The group currently meets the third Saturday of each month at 12 noon CST and the meeting is accessible through Zoom or by calling in on the phone.

For more information on participating, join the STM Online Community Facebook group or email Lori.

Special Touch Blind Services

Since early 2019, Special Touch Ministry has been retooling and developing services specifically to meet the needs of people who are blind or have visual impairments. The Blind Services department provides resources to churches, organizations, and individuals specifically addressing the needs of those with visual impairments or blindness.

Braille, large print, and audio tools, developed by this department, cover a broad range of needs from evangelism through spiritual mentorship to discipleship. From Sharing the Gospel with 'Alive in Five' to Faith-Based Children's books in Braille and Sunday School Curriculum in Audio. The focus of Blind Services is on Making the Cross Accessible.

SPECIAL TOUCH DISABILITY FRIENDLY CHURCH (DFC)

The need for disability-friendly churches is off the charts! Many families are disheartened by churches who don’t understand their unique needs. The heart of Special Touch Ministry is to see every church, through partnership, operate at the highest level of Disability Ministry success and friendliness. Services provided by the Disability Friendly Church (DFC) Program are designed to help us achieve this goal.

With a few, EASY, steps, your church can move forward in developing outreach to people with disabilities in your community.

CHAPTERS

One of the greatest challenges for families who have a member with special needs is the isolation they feel. Special Touch Chapters provide faith-based ministry and support to individuals who have disabilities and those who love and care for them.
