As kids Chinese New Year or CNY celebrations are an annual event to look forward to.

Loads and loads of cookies, soft drinks and food that you can help yourself to without incurring the irate stares from your elders.
And not forgetting all those extra pocket money one would receive in red packets every year.

But this is not an event most adults would look forward to as you would be giving the money to your younger siblings and most dread the family gathering.

For those who are single the most dreaded question is "When are you getting married?",and those who are married would invite -"So when are you expecting...?"

For most CNY is that 'rite of passage' that one has to go thru annually.
