These photos are environmental portraits. They explain to the viewer the living conditions surrounding the childhood years of the subjects in these photos. By paying attention to the background a much more informative photo has been created. The photos do not have a sterile quality. Frankly speaking, DPI believes that the background scenes in these two photos is more interesting than the children who are the subjects. Both photos are including in our 1930s collection.
