THE WAY THINGS USED TO BE

Respect those who came before you.  To know where you are headed it is important to know where you have been.  And then there is the famous quote from George Santayana, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it".  "The Locomobile" was taken in Michigan in 1918.  A car way ahead of its time at least price wise.  Note the unique fenders.  The car sold for about $100,000 in 2015 dollars.  The Great Depression forced many automobile manufacturers to go out of business.
"Shucking Peas" was taken in North Carolina (c.1910).  No frozen foods.  No supermarkets for this family.  Just organic foods from their garden.  A time consuming task for a family that wants to have food on the table.  No cell phones, no television, no internet and no texting. Just a family at peace and relating to one another.
