THE FRENCH CONNECTION

In our business we view thousands of photos weekly.  With a high degree of accuracy we can look at an image from the 1930s and tell at a glance whether it was shot in Kansas or Nebraska just from the landscape.  So it is with these images taken in France.  For us, these images could have only been taken in France.  We present The French Connection as an homage to the great French photo agencies including Magnum, Gamma-Liason and Sipa which have inspired us.  Above is "La Petite Fille Français (The Little French Girl)" c.1952.
"Le Pêcheur Français (The French Fisherman)", Marseilles (1945) shows a fisherman fixing his net against the backdrop of the harbor.  Photo courtesy of 3500 Quartermaster Truck Company. See more images from France in our Dispatch on Assignment collection.
