The above photo has recently appeared in our blog. Members of the Lakota Nation are seen receiving supplies. "Standing Rock" was taken at Cannon Ball, North Dakota in August 1923. In view of the current situation regarding the Dakota Access Pipeline and the people living on the Standing Rock Reservation we are presenting these two photos as our contribution to the conversation. Below, is "Standing Rock: Lakota Family" taken at the same location about one week earlier. See more images in our American Indian Nations collection.
