Proving once again that sometimes romance can occur when you least expect it. The above famous photo was taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt on August 14, 1945. It is known as "V-J Day in Times Square", a/k/a "The Kiss". Much has been written about the circumstances of the event and of the couple involved in their smooch.
