America as it was 90 years ago. It was the Roaring 20s, and the people were enjoying life following the Great War. It was a time to do some crazy things like flagpole sitting or going on expeditions with their automobiles. Above is a simple family celebration of the New Year in "Chico, Texas"; (January 2, 1926). Happiness is a relative thing. Below is "Monarch Pass"; Colorado (1926). The improvement in the automobile led some people to venture out into the desert and Pike's Peak in Colorado.
