PHOTOGRAPHS THAT LOOK LIKE PAINTINGS

Paintings that look like photographs are categorized as photorealism or hyperrealism.  But what about the reverse?  It is all subjective, of course, but we believe that sometimes a photograph is so perfect as to imitate a painting.  So it is with "The Hound Dog" taken in Maryland (1923).
The photo above depicts a mother and daughter standing at the banks of a river.  Are they looking toward the future or remembering the past?  "Uncertain Times" taken in the United States c.1946 meets our test for a photograph that looks like a painting.
