PAKISTAN: PESHAWAR

At the edge of the Tribal areas in Pakistan lies Peshawar.  The bazaar is at the crossroads of the city.  "The Burqa" (1968) shows a timeless scene not particularly related to Taliban rule in Afghanistan which came years later.  The burqa is worn primarily in localities near the Tribal areas as a matter of custom and safety.

"Peshawar Bazaar" (1968).  A family stops for a rest in the bazaarOur collection includes a number of scenes in Peshawar, within the bazaar and in the Swat Valley to the north.
