| | "THE LADY OF SHALLOT" - REDUX
The paintings which move my soul are few and far between. One exception is "The Lady of Shallot" by John William Waterhouse (1888). Based on an earlier ballad by Alfred, Lord Tennyson this painting has the pedigree to match its beauty. DPI's "The Lady with the Red Canoe"; Kansas City, Kansas c.1990 is our tribute to this masterpiece by Waterhouse. Perhaps it was the colors and the misty scene which affected our senses and reminded us, subliminally of "The Lady of Shallot". The long, red hair of this young woman with the canoe completes this rough comparison. After all, presenting any comparison to the great master is no easy task.
