FLOODS OF THE 1930s

Not only were there devastating floods during the 1930s, but with the floods came a plague of serious diseases particularly in Tennessee. Above we present "Flood - Ohio River in Illinois"; (Jan. 26, 1937). Way beyond flood stage as a railroad bridge is nearly swamped. Below is "Flood - Susquehanna River"; Duncannon, Pennsylvania (March 19, 1936). We have more historic flood photos in our Natural Disasters collection.
