FACES OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION

A discussion of the Great Depression in the abstract is not quite the same as putting as face on tragedy.  "Depression Farmer"  (September, 1934) represents the struggle of all American farmers during this most difficult period.

Stoic in the face of hard times.  "Bent But Not Broken"; Sparta, Wisconsin (February, 1939) is also symbolic because of its namesake in Greece.
