TAHRIR SQUARE - REVOLUTION IN EGYPT

The "Arab Spring" brought upheaval to Egypt.  Hosni Mubarak was replaced by Mohamed Morsi who in turn has been replaced by General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.  El-Sisi proceeded to jail many members of the Muslim Brotherhood including Morsi and members of his Freedom and Justice Party.  It may be a mistake to believe that old ways have been abandoned as these images from July 2011 taken in Cairo's Tahrir Square illustrate.  "Martyr's Family Member in Protest" was taken by Joseph Mayton (July 11, 2011).
"Child Islamist in Cairo" illustrates how some members of the younger generation prefer to retain policies enacted by the Morsi government.  Photo was taken in Tahrir Square by Joseph Mayton (July 29, 2011).
