EARLY TEXANS

We assess that both of these images were taken at about the same time in Texas in 1915.  "Texas Farm" above, illustrates how difficult and labor intensive life was on the farm.  A crude well pump and hay rake are evident.  "Horse and Wagon Team" below appears to document the transportation of a badly burned man for medical attention. Survival on a Texas farm depended on one's ingenuity, hard work and a bit of luck.  See more early images from our Historical collection.
