CLASSIC IMAGES

At DPI we do our best to bring you the best in documentary photography. Presented here are two recent, fine examples of life in the United States a long time ago. The photo above we call "Goin' To Kansas City, Kansas City Here I Come" so named after the famous song by Leiber and Stoller of the same name. Taken in Kansas City, Missouri on May 18, 1908 this young family seems to have all the hope for a bright future. Not so bright perhaps is the future for this young boy working in the cotton fields of Alabama in 1934. We have entitled this photo "Pick A Bale Of Cotton" which is a traditional American folk song.
