BREAKING THE RULES OF PHOTOGRAPHY

The first rule to remember is that there are no rules.  We have argued previously that a photograph is made better by the inclusion of people.  It would appear that this maxim does not always hold true.  Above is a rare photograph of a "Curtiss Condor BiPlane B-2" (1936) as it takes tourists on a flight over Philadelphia to introduce the public to flying as a means of transportation.  The Ben Franklin Bridge is visible below. State of the art at the time, the Condor became the prototype for World War II bombers.
People have a fascination with trains.  They like to ride them, look at them, take pictures of them and play with toy trains as children.  "Potomac Crossing" (2008) is more than just another pretty CSX freight train, especially as it emerges from the tunnel at Harper's Ferry, West Virginia.
