Geography tends to isolate communities of mountain people as access is not readily available compared with people who live on flat plains. With the use of a spinning wheel yarn is being prepared for weaving. Below is "Mountain Man"; Asheville, North Carolina c.1923 which shows a man with his creation which he calls a "Pleasant Harp".
