A NATION ON THE MOVE

Hard times require hard choices. During the 1930s scenes of migration were common as people hoped for a better life elsewhere, Above, is an image that we call "Trailer"; New York (1935). Considering the condition of many of these trailers one wonders just how far the families were able to travel without breaking down. Below, we call this image "The Coloradans"; Kansas (1936). Perhaps they traveled into the Dust Bowl to help other family members. See more images from our 1930s collection.
