Consulting Skills for IT Professionals
a virtual workshop
presented over four 2.5-hour sessions
You are invited to a special workshop. MISAC (Municipal Information Systems Association of California) is hosting Consulting Skills for IT Professionals, a workshop that will teach you skills and concepts that will help you build trust, influence others (whether or not you have power over them), and become a trusted advisor to your clients.

O&A is excited to partner once again with MISAC and the MuniTech Academy to offer this popular workshop. This virtual/online class will be taught in four (4), 2.5 hour sessions from 9AM – 11:30AM on July 16, 18, 23 & 25.

In today’s business and government cultures, expectations have changed. IT now needs to be more client-facing, and take a more active, strategic role in organizations. And while this may not seem like a difficult shift to make, it poses a real challenge to many IT professionals who have not focused on building human interaction and relationship skills necessary to be seen as a trusted advisor.

This workshop will give you the skills and understanding to help you change the way you communicate by looking through a different lens. Learn how to step into that role and have a positive impact on your peers.
Workshop Goals:
  • Increase knowledge of consulting concepts
  • Increase options for consulting strategies
  • Strengthen the link between your individual consulting strategies and the specific environment of your IT organization
  • Expand you specific individual consulting skills
  • Assess your present strengths and area for improvement as an IT consultant
  • Apply a consistent consulting methodology
