Sessions for this reading comprehension strategy, will begin on October 10, 2017. The Visual Imagery Strategy is used by students (at grades 3 and above reading levels) to create “mental movies” of reading passages.
Students learn techniques that help them visualize the scenery, characters, and action related to a passage read. They actually learn to describe what they see as they read.
This strategy enhances reading comprehension by improving recall of facts and sequences. The Visual Imagery Strategy also requires students to tie reading passages to prior knowledge.
