Proverbs 13:20 - Wisdom Walk “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.” (Proverbs 13:20 NLT)
by Chris
I find myself doing inventory a lot more often nowadays.
Always assessing who is around me and how they may or may not be influencing me.
The power of environment is extremely powerful, and often times dictates our mindset and our approach to life.
Through prayer I realized I was nervous about an upcoming event. It is a great opportunity for me to network with people a LOT smarter and more established than me in business.
I began to feel nervous. Inferior in a sense. Almost to the point of not purchasing my ticket to go.
God ministered to me showing me that I need to be more intentional with surrounding myself with people “better” than me. The only way to become wise is to walk with the wise.
Is there a certain group of people you know are good for you to be around but it makes you uncomfortable?
That is exactly how I was feeling (and somewhat still feel). However, I know the scripture is true. I know in order to grow I have to change my environment and step outside of my comfort zone.
The blessings of God, and His miracles are all residing directly outside of your comfort zone as well. If you want God to move in your life like never before, you must be willing to sacrifice your comfort for it.
God is calling you to live at a higher standard. He wants you to surround yourself with people greater than you in all areas of your life.
From your job to your marriage. God’s will for you is to seek people who are prosperous in areas you desire to be and walk with them.
Lay your pride down and be vulnerable to them. Ask questions and listen with your whole heart.
Friend, you’re not alone on this walk. We are better together. It’s time to break the silence and start using one another as resources to strengthen us on our daily walk.
Lets pray...
“Father, give me the courage to seek wise council in all areas of my life. Sometimes I think I have it all together, but I know that’s a lie. Your will is never for us to endure alone, but you have made men prosperous on earth to show the true power of your Spirit. I will be one of the prosperous men. In the meantime I will walk with them. In Jesus name I pray...Amen”
