Colossians 3:15 - This Season “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15 NIV)
by Chris
My prayer for you today is a prayer for peace.
With the holiday season quickly approaching it is no wonder why this is the most stressful time of the year for Americans.
Some will feel the void of a lost loved one, or the inability of being able to spend valuable time around their family.
While others will feel the financial pressure of generating some extra cash to buy gifts and pay for the bills.
Traffic will become thicker, patience will run thinner, and angry reactions will be triggered quicker.
In the midst of all this there is still peace. A peace in Jesus that will help you live in peace amongst one another.
It is this peace that will keep you calm when others are openly angry and frustrated. This peace will allow you to extend grace and show love to those who are in need of it the most (although they may not act like it).
Peace that will comfort you in knowing that everything is ok. You don’t have to stress over not having enough, but learn to work with what you have and be thankful for it all.
You cannot be thankful without the presence of peace in your life. They work hand in hand.
So as God’s presence is magnified in your life, so will the peace of God.
I am thankful for each and every man that has chosen to receive these devotionals. It is truly a blessing to be used as a vessel to minister to men daily.
I pray for the same thankful spirit in your life today. That whatever your circumstance, the peace of God will overwhelm you and create a praise of thankfulness to be ever present on your lips daily.
Lets pray…
“Father I receive your peace in my life. Let me be a beacon of light in this holiday season. Help me to be in tune with the needs of others more than my personal needs. Through your peace let me heart be filled with thankfulness for all you have done for me. I pray these things in your precious name. Amen"
