| | “ The Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased all that Job had twofold.”
~ Job 42:10 NASB |
| I’m so thankful for the mercy and grace of God.
Even in my doubtful moments He still remains faithful to his promise towards me.
What I’m learning is that it’s not a sin to doubt, or even get angry with God. The problem is when you stay and operate in that doubt and anger.
Yesterday you learned the power of confession. Job made two confessions that began to turn his entire situation around.
The first was confessing the ability of God over his circumstance. The second was confessing his sins towards God in his time of doubt and discouragement.
Job applied what I call CPR to his faith and was blessed abundantly. For review, the 3 steps to performing CPR on your faith are:
- Confess
- Pray
- Receive
Once Job confessed, the Lord called him to prayer (v8).
Here’s the thing, God did not tell him to pray for himself. He called him to pray for his friends who spoke foully of God during his trial.
Taking his friends advice almost cost Job his life and gave satan the victory. The fact that Job prayed for these same friends shows the true condition of his heart.
This is what happens when you have a true God experience.
The future is so bright you don’t even sweat the past. When you realize what God has in store for you, you understand any grudge, bitterness, or anger simply isn’t worth holding on to.
Job saw this and was able to "pray it forward" for his friends.
God received his prayer and blessed him accordingly.
Who is in need of your prayer today? Have you ever realized the restoration of your faith could be connected to your prayer for someone else?
Search your heart and ask God to show you who.
Lets pray…
“Father, thank you for being so faithful to me. Lord I want to pray for the lost or anyone who may have led me astray. Reveal to me who is in need of my prayer that I may lift them up sincerely in your name. I know my latter is greater because of my faith in you God. For that I thank you with all of my heart. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.” |
