| | “Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.”
~1 John 4:11 NLT |
| Tis the season.
The time of the year where joy and holiday cheer is supposed to be spread. Unfortunately, the opposite tends to be true in our society.
People have less patience with each other at this time of the year. Wait in a line in any department store and you won’t have to look far for a disgruntled customer.
Depression spikes and the loss of loved ones seems more heavy.
If Jesus is the reason for the season it should reflect in the amount of love we walk in towards one another.
Now is the time to be that much slower to anger. When someone is acting out of character, you should meet them with that much more compassion.
Here are some basic ways you can show love this season:
- Allow someone to checkout ahead of you
- Let someone merge in front of you in traffic
- Smile and wave out your window at a random car passing
- Tell the cashier at the gas station “God bless you”
Make sure you find a way to love on as many people as you can this season. They need it.
Nothing shows the love of Christ more than to see it exemplified in His creation.
God loves us so that we can love each other. It is that love that brought this season, and that love that is the reason for the season.
No matter what you do…make sure you show love.
Lets pray…
“Lord show me how to be loving even when I don’t feel like it. In Jesus name I pray, Amen” |
