John 3:30 - The Great Exchange “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30 NASB)
by Chris
You have to keep the main thing the main thing.
And that is the fact that we are all put on this earth for His will. That is the entire reason for our existence.
This may seem harsh but…
Who cares about what you have planned?
Who cares about your desires and goals in life?
What really matters is His will. What He wants out of you and what He wants to do through you.
This can be a very hard thought process to adapt. But it is necessary.
John the baptist knew this and lived it out.
He always knew that there was one greater than Him coming. His job was to simply pave the way by spreading the word and baptizing by water.
Even when people called him Christ he immediately denied it.
He knew all he was doing was nothing compared to what Jesus was about to do. He knew at the appointed time it would be required of him to disappear so the work of the Jesus could be that much more evident.
The same is required of you.
Can you immediately lay aside your plans and aspirations for life for the sake of the Lord?
God gave you life to be a steward over. To produce fruit and expand the kingdom on earth. But your life does not belong to you.
It belongs to Christ alone.
He has every right to interrupt and adjust your schedule for His will. And you should be okay with that.
Because the only way you truly win is when God is magnified and His works made known to man.
To do that you must be willing to make the greatest exchange of all…your life, for HIs will.
Lets pray…
“Lord, your will is more important than my plans and my life. I know my life belongs to you. I know I am valuable and you love me, but I also know it’s not about me. Help me to put my pride aside when you call on me. That my response would mirror that of John the Baptist and I would be willing decrease so you can increase. I speak these things into existence in Jesus name, Amen.”
