“God knows my heart.”
I’ve heard that saying far too often. Most of the times it is spoken to cover a sin or action someone is ashamed of.
God knowing your heart is not the issue…you are.
The question is…do you know what’s in your heart?
There is not a man on earth that knows his own heart. It takes life’s trials to reveal what is really in your heart. It takes words spoken from your mouth to expose the contents of your heart.
Furthermore, it takes the Lord to search your heart and reveal to you what’s in it.
If you prayed this Psalm to God would you be willing to face what He reveals? Do you think you have a good idea of what is really in your heart?
This can be a scary thought. I know it is for me.
It’s one thing to think you are a certain way, but it’s an entirely different ball game to know. And face it.
Or will you have the heart of the Psalmist?
Knowing that God will find something that displeasing but willing to be guided back in the right direction.
This is the type of heart you should pray for. A heart that is willing to face itself and be open to correction.
God is all knowing and there is nothing you can surprise him with. He knows what is in your heart. However, he wants you to invite him in to search.
He wants you to be willing to allow Him to reveal its contents to you. He wants you to want to change. Lets pray…
“Lord…search me. I am ready to allow you to search my heart’s contents. Reveal to me what needs to be changed Father. That I may know your will for my life and walk in it boldly. In Jesus name I pray…Amen.”
