Subject: Pure confidence

Daily encouragement for men of faith
“I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.”

~ Psalm 41:11 NIV
Can you make that statement confidently?

Can you honestly claim that God is pleased with you without second guessing?

This is what makes David’s heart so unique. After scriptures of lament where he is expressing how hard things are for him. How his enemies pursue him relentlessly.

David turns things around in an instant with a statement like “ I know you are pleased with me”.

Overshadowing all of his heavy emotions and shortcomings with his confidence in Christ.

If there is one thing I would like to deposit into your spirit it is to keep going. You don’t have to be perfect and you don’t always have to feel good about your situation.

One thing David never did was stop. No matter how many times he fell and let doubt control his emotions and actions. He kept pursuing for more of God.

You may wonder “how can a murderer, fornicator, liar, and disobedient man make such a bold claim?”

It is because David knew God intimately. He knew of God’s forgiveness, mercy, and grace. He knew that the greatest sin he could ever commit was still covered by the love of God.

This is the same confidence you have access to as well. God wants you to experience him on a higher level so that you can see for yourself God understands and accepts you as you are.

Your triumph over your enemies will serve as continual proof of God’s satisfaction with your walk. It has nothing to do with you being perfect or without sin.

In life you will fall many times, but God will not withhold victory from you. No matter how great your sin, God is greater.

Keep your heart focused on pleasing Him, and in return He will be pleased by you.

Lets pray…

“Father cleanse my heart that I may long for your commands alone. Make my desires pure Lord. Give me the strength to obey your commands no matter the size. And do not let the enemy use my sin as shame against me to draw me out of your presence. You are God, and you are pleased with me. In Jesus name I pray…Amen.”
