"Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. (Psalm 144:1 NIV)
by Chris
I absolutely love the sport of boxing.
It has diminished a bit and is far less entertaining than it was when I was growing up. Nonetheless I still enjoy watching the sport.
One key to winning in boxing is picking the right trainer. You can have all the talent in the world but you still need the right trainer to help focus that talent into a victorious performance.
The same goes for life.
The best part is we have access to a trainer who has never lost a fight and never will. Even better, He is willing to get in the ring and fight the match for us.
In fact...He already has!
Every battle you face is already won in Christ. The hardest part you will face is turning it over to him and staying out of the ring. You will have to fight your prideful thinking that you can handle it yourself.
Your responsibility is to endure and exercise your faith diligently in the face of every trial. Every step in faith is a jab to the enemies gut. Every morning devotional is an uppercut to the chin. Daily prayer is the left hook. Spreading the gospel is the final, knockout blow.
As God as your trainer, what can any challenger of faith really do?
Lets pray...
"Father, I commit to walk in your victory today. I know every attack of the enemy is spiritual just manifested in the physical realm. Help me to stay mindful of that when trials arise. Leaning on your word and faith to see me through and to the victory you promised. In Jesus name I pray, Amen"
