Luke 22:42 - No Pain, No Purpose
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42 NIV)
by Chris
There is a reason for it all.
Every pain that you go through in life has a purpose. God uses pain as a conduit to produce great creations.
Woman are pushed to the brink of death to bring children into the world. Jesus endured more than any man could ever to produce salvation for the world.
Without the pain, the purpose is never revealed.
The same holds true for the pain in your life.
It wasn't until recently where I understood the purpose of pain in my life. A pain that kept me so frustrated with God because He wouldn't remove it.
Then, through prayer, He opened my eyes. He showed me the big picture and what the pain was producing in me.
Then I did the unthinkable...I asked Him not to remove it. His will was more important than my pain.
It is the pain that keeps me pressing. The pain is keeping me outside of my comfort zone to stay on the road less traveled.
It is this pain that is propelling me into my purpose.
Do you know the purpose of the pain in your life?
Think about everything this pain has caused you to do. Maybe it's read and pray more. Perhaps it's keeping you dissatisfied with a relationship.
It might be making you think twice about your job or career.
Whatever the pain, pray to God to reveal the purpose. Then accept the pain and use it to pursue what God has in store for you.
Be willing to go through the painful process of birthing your destiny.
Let's pray...
"Father, thank you for my pain. I thought I wanted it removed but I understand it is necessary. Lord give me the clarity to understand the purpose for this pain in my life. So that I can endure more confidently knowing what it is going to produce. In Jesus name I pray...Amen"
