Subject: Never forget

Daily encouragement for men of faith

“be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.”

~ Deuteronomy 6:12 NIV
After it’s all over…don’t forget about God.

I have witnessed people near death call on the name of the Lord with all their might. Only to get healed and return to their previous ways of living.

I have seen people call on God as the last resort instead of the first. When their gods fail is when the name of the Lord is used for a last minute deliverance.

As long as things are going good they are not worried about God. The second trials come they look to him for blame and deliverance.

And it hurts my heart.

It hurts because I know how great it is to have a real relationship with Jesus. To have someone who knows what you’re going through, loves you unconditionally, and never breaks a promise.

Life is hard all by itself and I have no clue where I would be without my faith in God. It is by faith that I am able to withstand the toughest storms in life and stand victorious.

When all I want to do is stay in my bed and hide from the troubles of the world, it is God who gives me the strength to push on.

At my lowest point He is always there. Always listening. And always understanding exactly what I need.

That is why I will never forget. I will never forget what God has brought me out of.

And neither should you.

If you’re reading this it means that you have already experienced the power of God’s deliverance in your life. He freed you from your sinful nature and gave you a new life.

Can you possibly imagine where you would be right now without God? What a scary thought.

Your trials will test, grow, and prove your faith. God has promised that your trials would not defeat you. And He remains faithful.

Make sure not to let your current blessing blind you from remembering whose hand it was that delivered you.

Lets pray…

“Lord forgive me for any time that I have taken you for granted in my life. Every time I have called on your name for deliverance only to return to my sinful ways. Thank you for your unfailing love and grace that keeps your arms open wide to receive me. I am so thankful that you cared enough for me to love me unconditionally. Jesus I will never forget what you have done for me. Amen.”
