Subject: May seem foolish

Daily encouragement for men of faith
“Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk”

~ 1 Samuel 1:13 NIV
Hannah wasn’t foolish she was faithful.

When the priest Eli observed her with his natural eye she appears to be drunk.

However, a spiritual lens revealed that she was praying wholeheartedly to the Lord.

You see, Hannah prayed to God for a child of her own. She had been mocked and ridiculed and her single request to God was to bear a child.

It’s important to note that the Lord closed Hannah’s womb. This prayer was a petition for God to reconsider what He had done.

Since Hannah prayed with her heart when she slept with her husband God He remembered her and she became pregnant (v.19).

How bad do you want it?

When God has a promise for you to the world it may seem foolish. It may appear as if you have lost your mind. But who cares?!

The faith walk will not make any natural sense. Even though Eli was a godly man it still looked to him as if Hannah was acting in foolishness instead of faith.

When confronted by Eli, Hannah responded in faith. It is this faithfulness that Hannah displayed that ultimately granted her favor from both God and Eli. As a result, the Lord granted her petition and answered her prayer.

Do not let anybody’s perception of your faith walk deter you from seeking God with your whole heart.

God responds to faith alone. If it takes you to appear foolish to the world in the process…so be it.

Lets pray…

“Lord grant me the strength to not be distracted by the world’s view of my faith. Remember my prayers Lord. Move on behalf of my faith that I can expect and receive your miraculous works in my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen”
