Romans 5:6 - In Him...We Win “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6 NIV)”
by Chris
I’ll be the first to admit it’s hard.
When you are waiting on God to come through it seems like time is accelerated. Days seem to fly by. And yet, God seems to be the most silent.
Then, right as you are ready to throw in the towel...God shows up.
And you can breathe again.
The more I witness this first hand the more I’m reminded of a story my uncle used to tell.
He asked me, “If somebody was drowning and fighting the water, would you jump in and save them?”
As a child I remember thoughtlessly answering “Yes!”. I knew how to swim and could not just sit and watch somebody drown to death.
Then he told me, “Not so fast. If you jump in while they are fighting the water you will end up drowning with them. You must first wait until they are tired of fighting, then attempt to rescue them.”
I couldn’t help but understand why my uncle told this to me. It was a direct correlation to how God moves in our lives.
When we stop fighting and realize there is no power of our own that can change our situation; we allow God to show up.
If you find yourself tired and exhausted from continually fighting for what you want in life...it may be time to surrender.
Surrender your “power” to the will of God. The one who truly holds all power and deliverance in His hand. Then you will realize...
God doesn’t want to fight with you, He wants to fight it for you.
More accurately, He’s already fought and won for you. You just have to receive and believe your victory in Christ Jesus.
Lets pray...
“Father, you are my victory. There is no trial I have to face or fight alone. I now realize that the more faith I have in you the more power I have access to. Help me to always rely on your power instead of my own. I DO receive the victory you have laid before me in my life. In Jesus name, Amen”
