Subject: Have you tasted it?

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8 NIV)

I pray you had a great holiday weekend.

Hopefully it was filled with family, friends, and loved ones. I also pray you were able to rest and enjoy the precious moments the holidays create.

One thing I love about Thanksgiving is smelling the food being prepared. Letting the aroma of dishes I haven't tasted in months fill my nostrils and increase my hunger.

And while smelling it is good...actually tasting the food is when the magic happens. That is when you hunger is truly satisfied.

The same can be said for God.

Hearing about the goodness of God is like smelling the aroma of the food. But you haven't tasted it until you have experienced His goodness firsthand for yourself.

It is when you experience the power of the Word of God in your life that your spirit man begins to be satisfied. That is when your faith is truly built.

So the question becomes...how hungry for God's presence are you?

You were created with a natural hunger for God that only a relationship with Christ can fulfill. This was intentional by the creator. God wants you to hunger after Him.

He wants to satisfy you fully with His presence.

Unlike food, you can never get too full of God. You will never run out of room for His presence in your life.

How hungry are you?

Lets pray...

"Father, I hunger for more of you daily. Fill me with your Holy Spirit Lord that I may experience the fullness of your joy in my life. Let me not turn to any material thing as an alternative to your presence in my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen"
