Isaiah 40:29 - Got Weakness? “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (Isaiah 40:29 NIV)
by Chris
The world has tricked us.
They portray men as soft if they can’t handle it all themselves. It is frowned upon to ask for help and admit your ignorance in a specific area.
They teach you that real men don’t express emotions unless it is in an extreme situation or major tragedy.
Based on the scripture, however, the Lord doesn’t give strength to the strong. They already have it.
He provides strength to those who are thinking of quitting. Power to those whose might is lacking.
But if we act as if we always have it together, we will prevent such provisions from coming our way.
Whose strength would you rather depend on? Who would you rather be empowered by? Yourself or God?
Showing weakness or weariness is not a flaw of character, but a distinguishing factor of confidence. Confidence in Christ to know that we can do nothing without Him. That He longs for us to come before Him broken and in need.
That’s when He shows up and shows out!
Brothers, we have to be vulnerable before the Lord. The world may brag about how strong they are or how much they accomplished on their own.
I take pride in my weakness. It is my proof of God working through me daily.
Lets pray...
“Father thank you for our frailty. There is nothing we should want to achieve without you. You never miss catching a falling body. Stresses of life get the best of us at times, but you remain faithful. At times we feel that we just can’t move on, but you provide incomprehensible power. Lord we are proud to announce our weakness in your presence. Empower the weak today in Jesus name. Amen”
