Yesterday I observed something.
As we were putting up the Christmas tree it was my son's first time participating.
Last year he was barely walking and didn't know what was going on.
Some ornaments scared him and his natural reaction to fear was to flee.
But where to?..
At his moment of fear he ran straight into my arms without a second thought. He didn't move until the coast was clear.
I thought about how good it felt to know he finds shelter in my presence. Then immediately thought about our Heavenly Father.
Running to him in your times of trouble helps put you at ease. But have you ever thought of how it makes God feel?
He delights when we trust in him. When we hide behind him until he has shielded of all danger. He longs for it.
It's not just about you getting protection - it's also about pleasing your Heavenly Father by taking refuge in his presence. Showing Him that he is the true strong tower in your life.
It's a perfect way to show your love and total dependency.
Lets pray...
"Father thank you for your arms of protection. That I have a safe place of refuge to run to. I am thankful that you delight in me running to you. My passion is to delight in your ways. Now you can delight in mine. Thank you Jesus. Amen."
