Hebrews 6:15 - Unbelieving Faith Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
(Mark 9:24 NKJV)

I love reading the response of this father.
This father’s child had been experiencing seizures since birth. Some would cause him to fall into pools of water other times fire.
He encountered Jesus and asked if He could have compassion and help.
Once Jesus told him “all things are possible to him who believes” the man immediately obtained faith in God.
David Guzik states in his online commentary this about the man’s faith...
“In this case, the man’s unbelief was not a rebellion against or a rejection of God’s promise. He did not deny God’s promise; he desired it. However, it just seemed too good to be true. Thus, he says, “help my unbelief!””
Has God ever given you a promise you prematurely dismissed because it seemed too good to be true? You may have been longing for it to happen for so long that the idea of it actually coming to pass caused you to not believe.
Jesus honored his honesty. The father admitted to not fully believing in such a great thing could come to pass. Jesus didn’t judge or condemn him, He honored his honesty and responded to his faith by casting the spirit out never to return again.
Brothers, God is calling us to a higher level of honesty and faith with Him. He already knows our thoughts. We do not need to act towards Him as if we have it all together.
He wants us to admit to Him the times in our lives where we are lacking faith in His word or promises to us. This provides an open door for Him to show up and show out on our behalf.
But it takes faith. Faith to know that God is able to do all things except fail.
Spurgeon writes this about the man’s faith...
“While men have no faith, they are unconscious of their unbelief; but, as soon as they get a little faith, then they begin to be conscious of the greatness of their unbelief.”
Continue to call on and believe God for great works in your life today. He will see your faith, acknowledge it, and honor it.
Lets pray...
“Father, you are the author of faith. You teach us daily how to exercise it to achieve kingdom business on earth. Lord, help us to be more transparent with you in our personal struggles. We know you do not respond to need, but faith. Faith brings every promises to pass. We pray for the faith to believe you for the impossible areas in our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen”
