As men our pride and ego are
oftentimes our own worst enemies, but what most men never fail to
realize is that our pride and ego are tied to our weaknesses and fears.
Because we are prideful and egocentric we purposely avoid our weaknesses
and the things we fear in life, relationships, and business.
Not only
does our pride and ego lead us to avoid situations that may expose our
weaknesses and fears, but it also compounds our problems by never asking
for help.
Our biggest breakthroughs in our lives will always be when we push through a fear or weakness (Book: In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day). This is 100% accurate in my experiences and I'm quite certain it holds true for you as well.
I remember speaking in front of a
handful of people used to scare the daylights out of me.
My own pride
and ego (useful tools in Satan's toolbox) would do everything in it's
power to keep me in fear and to avoid the situation.
What I began to understand was that Satan
was trying to keep my wings tied down and my mouth shut through fear
because he knew that if I overcame my weakness and fear that I'd be more
empowered because I trusted in God.
I'm not some eloquent public
speaker, most everyone is not; however, our weakness in this instance is
made perfect by the grace of God.
You see, when you trust in God to
push past a weakness, fear, or some other self-imposed limitation, his
grace will shine upon you for everyone to see.
Even in a mumbling,
bumbling, and stumbling talk in front of people, you will be made
perfect in the eyes of others because they wish they had the God-fidence
to do what you just did, and that's overcoming weakness.
Let's Pray...
"Lord,
lead us to always trust in you when fear and trepidation taunt us and
try to keep clip our wings from everything you created us to be. Help us
recognize fear and weaknesses as taunts from Satan and allow your words
be swords to slice through Satan's lies. When our weaknesses are
exposed, let us jump at the opportunity to use that as opportunities to
hone our skills and view every adversity as a preparation for greatness.
Lord, use the overcoming of our weaknesses to empower us to share who
helped us overcome, and that is you Lord.
Finally Lord, present
opportunities for us to trust in you to overcome and be made perfect
through Your grace. In Jesus's mighty name,
Amen."
