"I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

I am still a young man. But I have had many experiences in Christ.

I have seen some unbelievable moves of God and have experienced some deep pains from the church.

My family has gone from two incomes and a large beautiful home to no income and renting a house half the size.

One thing is for sure...we always have and will continue to praise God through it all.

I have come to learn that leaning on God is an everyday necessity in my life. Not just an event that takes place in hard times.

Have you ever gone through a very tough season and still managed to smile? To the point where people wonder if you truly understand how bad your situation is.

If you have, then you have experienced true contentment in Christ.

It's not based off what you have or are in need of; it's a joy deep down that comes from a real relationship with the Father.

A joy that supersedes the natural and, by faith, allows you to be hopeful for things to come.

Brothers, today I'd like to challenge you to take an internal look at what your source of contentment in life is.

If there is a lack of contentment, remember you can do all things through Christ.

If there is an abundance of contentment, understand its by no goodness of your own.

But it's the power of Christ that provides the ability to be content in ALL situations.

Even yours. 

Let's pray...

"Father thank you for the strength in you that you provide for us. Show us how to look past our current situation and live lives full of contentment and love. Help us to keep our minds and hearts focused on your goodness whenever we may find it hard to be content. Knowing that faith in you is all we need in life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. "
